About the event
Cacao ceremony.
What happens in a cacao ceremony?
Cocoa ceremonies vary depending on who facilitates the ceremony. People usually sit in a circle, set their intentions, pray, sing together to heartfelt music or healing sound, and then dance or share (what?) as a group.(google)
Is cacao ceremony a drug?
Ceremonial cacao is not a drug, and while it won't produce strong psychoactive effects as cannabis occasionally does, it can help you feel more focused and present. (google)
Is ceremonial cocoa safe?
While cocoa is a stimulant, it is not considered a psychedelic. The FDA classifies cocoa as "generally safe" and its effects are fairly mild, even at the higher doses consumed during a ceremony. (google)
What does cacao do to the brain?
Raw cacao is rich in a phytonutrient known as flavonol. In numerous studies, lavonols have been shown to improve blood flow to the brain. When blood flow increases and therefore oxygen to the brain improves, researchers have seen significant improvements in mental focus and levels of attention span.(google)
